The Equipment Is Changing...  The Mounting Base Must Change With It.

AI is changing nearly every part of the data center. The equipment is more powerful, more complex—and much heavier.

For years, most IT racks weighed approximately 1,000 pounds and followed fairly predictable dimensions. Today’s advanced AI and GPU systems can weigh 5,000 pounds or more. They may also be wider, deeper, liquid-cooled, and built around entirely new equipment designs.

A standard base is no longer enough.

ISO-Base XD™ is designed for this new generation of AI infrastructure. Each platform can be customized to match the equipment’s actual size, weight, footprint, floor conditions, and protection requirements.

No standard rack. No standard base.

THE WEIGHT BENEATH AI

The rapid growth of AI is usually discussed in terms of processing power, energy consumption, and cooling. But another important change is taking place at floor level.

AI racks are becoming dramatically heavier.

This added weight can create challenges for concrete slabs and especially for raised-access floors. The weight may be concentrated at a few wheels, leveling feet, rails, or support points.

ISO-Base XD™ helps address this challenge by spreading the rack’s weight across a larger floor area.

Load spreading has always been part of the ISO-Base design. When racks weighed approximately 1,000 pounds, it was often considered a secondary benefit. With today’s AI systems weighing 5,000 pounds or more, it can become one of the platform’s most important advantages.

Instead of allowing the entire load to remain concentrated beneath a few small contact points, a custom ISO-Base XD™ platform creates a broader and more controlled connection between the equipment and the supporting floor.

This can be particularly valuable on raised-access floors, where panels, stringers, pedestals, and underfloor structures must work together to support increasingly heavy equipment.

ISO-Base XD™ does not increase the rated capacity of the floor itself. It provides a better way to distribute the equipment load across the available supporting structure.

DESIGNED AROUND THE EQUIPMENT

There is no longer one standard AI rack.

Manufacturers are introducing systems with different widths, depths, cooling arrangements, support frames, service connections, and equipment footprints. Some systems are built as individual racks, while others may include multiple cabinets, integrated cooling equipment, power equipment, or proprietary support structures.

ISO-Base XD™ can be customized around the equipment that will actually be installed.

The platform can be designed to match:

• The width and depth of the equipment • The total operating weight • Wheel, foot, rail, or skid locations • Raised-floor or concrete-slab conditions • Cooling, power, data, and service connections • Access and maintenance requirements • Seismic movement requirements • Vibration-reduction objectives

The result is not an oversized standard platform. It is a purpose-designed base that becomes part of the complete equipment installation.

MORE PROTECTION FOR HEAVIER EQUIPMENT

ISO-Base XD™ expands upon the proven ISO-Base platform to meet the needs of heavier and more complex AI systems.
